The technique is to examine the thoughts and philosophy, apply the laws of logic and check for any distortions or fallacies in thinking. Then discipline the mind to only have congruent thoughts, fantasies, mental-pictures and so on. Easier said than done, but it is a lifelong practice because what we are talking about is living life well and consciously. Now, you are already living life whether you like it or not. If you try and live it well and consciously, it’s not any ‘extra’ life that you have to get through. We’re all stuck on planet earth for our lifetimes, so we might as well make some progress as be sitting on our asses.
So I suppose it can be whatever you want, but to add some structure, I’m going to write the sections as:
Spirituality
Ethics
Politics and identity
Livelihood and money
Living and dying
Love and connection
The contents of my mind
Keeping a journal and being mindful over time, I find that there is a lot of resentment concerning my childhood, the way I was treated. There is a strong ‘other’ identity, i.e. daydreams about leaving my home country (which I’ve done but I often replay variations of this in consciousness). There is resentment about the amount of violence directed to me as a child and that it was mostly metered by females. There’s a strong sense of non-identity, daydreams of various situations where I reject masculinity or my nationality (I’m non-binary).
