This fallacy makes an argument by comparing two things that aren’t actually similar enough to make an argument. For example, getting a date is like getting a job. It’s important to apply a lot and wear a suit.
There are some similarities between getting a date and getting a job, (you need to persist overtime) and in other ways they are not similar (one makes men richer and the other poorer :P). But because there are some similarities, there are other things not the same, and it’s illogical to support an argument using the latter.
