Ludic Fallacy

This is a fallacy where one assumes that you can apply the rules of a game to actual life. For example, a dating coach might say that finding a partner can be likened to a game of chess, and applies the strategies that can win at chess to dating. This may or may not work, but it’s an illogical fallacy to assume it would always work because games are always simplified versions of life and sometimes following the same rules won’t play out.
