Burden of Proof

A claim is a statement you believe to be true. The rules are, if you make a claim, you have to provide evidence for the claim. So if someone says to you, “All people who are Forever Alone hate the opposite gender.” Then you can say, reasonably, “Prove it”. If they reply, “Well, show me someone Forever Alone who isn’t hateful.” Now this would be easy to do, but it isn’t your job.

A better, perhaps more relevant way to think about this would be when you are listening to the inner-voice constructing all these arguments. On the inside, it’s actually reversed. It IS your job to find contrary evidence. Otherwise it simply goes unchallenged and keeps repeating.
