Affirming a Disjunct

This is the fallacy that if there are two options, then one must be right and one must be wrong. It’s taking the word OR (a logical operator) and misapplying it. For example, saying that a lack of dating success is due to shyness. So here the thinking is that there is either shyness or confidence, and you have a fixed identity which is either one or the other, and that it’s’ fixed, but it’s really a fallacy as confidence, or the lack of it, isn’t inherent; it depends on the situation.

Extraverts enjoy dating, I’m an introvert, I can’t enjoy dating.

But introverts can enjoy dating in a different way, there isn’t one right style and one wrong style. They are both right.

IT’S NOT ALWAYS A CHOICE

WE CAN BOTH BE RIGHT
