This fallacy minimises consensus which exists and magnifies lesser evidence to give a false view of something. For example, a person could put forward the idea that acceptance of loneness is a better strategy than striving to change a long-term FA situation, and focus on a few outlying studies which show beneficial health effects of being single, although a deeper metaanalysis (look at the data as a whole) would show the negative effects on health of prolonged isolation. It’s important to gather all the evidence you can and deliberately try and find contrary evidence for any conclusion you want to draw.
